Mas Tequila
Our love for tequila is no secret, and you will clearly see that theme as pervasive throughout these recipe posts. This one is a riff on a drink we found at the St. Leo Restaurant in Oxford, Mississippi on a college trip to Ole Miss. Good tequila kicked up with some Mezcal and Amaro. The beet juice gives it a nice color, but you can substitute with additional lime or any other root vegetable juice.
1 Part Tequila
1 Part Lime Juice
3/4 Part Mezcal
1/2 Part Amaro
1/2 Part Beet Juice
Combine in shaker or mixing glass, add ice and mix for 30 seconds. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with jalapeno or serrano pepper slices.
